If you are reading this, then it means you made into 2022, Happy new year! 2021 was particularly challenging for a lot of people but we believe 2022 will be better. January is the time of year when many people set New Year’s resolutions or goals that they will accomplish, if you are one of those people, we’d like to wish you well and scriptures says, “The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.” Proverbs 14:8 (NIV)”

Yeah, I know, it’s a new year and I’m supposed to offer words that inspire you to get off your couch, to hustle, to develop healthy habits and, “to love yourself more”, according to social standards (I’m not out here to judge anyone’s goals), but l want to talk about something you have heard a million times before. Faith. To be more specific, faith talk. Faith talk is the language of heaven, the talk which expresses full acknowledgement and confidence of God’s power and his ability. Speaking words of faith is a vital part of taking what God has given you and if you want to please God, you might want to learn the faith talk.

Jesus, in Mark 11, not only told us to speak words of faith over the natural situations in our lives, but he set the example for us. In Mark 11:14, He spoke to the fruitless fig tree and said, “May no one ever eat your fruit again!” Sure enough, what He said happened. The fig tree withered and died. When the disciples asked Him about it, He told them they should operate the same way. In fact, He said that whosoever will speak believing his words come to pass will have whatever he says.

“I believed; therefore, I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak.” 2 Corinthians 4:13 The bible says, we have the same spirit, the same power, and the same potential as Jesus Christ within us through His Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit of Faith that lives within all Believers. What this means is that the faith that all our heroes of faith had, you and I have the very same.

There are two parts of Faith. There is a believing part, and there is also a speaking part. You cannot have one part without the other. Scripture calls all Believers to speak, or proclaim with confidence and authority, the good news of Jesus Christ. Yet so often, some of us make Jesus our Lord and Savior and then stop there. Yet even Jesus told His disciples that we will do works even greater than the ones that they were witnessing. The problem is, nothing will happen if we do not proclaim the words, the promises, and the truths of God to every situation in front of us.

Heaven is anticipating your faith talk. It’s literally waiting for you to speak in faith. If you can’t speak anything in faith, it’s best not to say anything at all because any other talk will work against you (fear talk, worry talk). We are called to say what God says about us. We are called to talk about our situation the way that God talks. We are supposed to speak in agreement with what God says. The best way to align ourselves with what He is speaking is through prayer, worship, and reading His Word. When we read His word, meditate upon it, and ask His Spirit to reveal and speak to us, He does! When you reach out to Him, He will always be faithful to reach back. Through that, our faith grows, and we find our voice in Him Does that mean your new car will instantly show up in your driveway? Not necessarily. But that doesn’t matter. In the realm of the spirit, you’ve taken it. From the point of your prayer, it’s yours and if you keep saying so, and don’t waver, you’ll be driving it.

As we start the year, I encourage you to learn the faith talk. It sounds simple, and it is. But it’s not necessarily easy. To truly believe that what we say is going to happen, we must have confidence in the power of God’s Word and our words, not just when we’re praying or making faith confessions, but all the time.
