Ever noticed how uneasy people get when the phone battery dies? Or when the Wi-Fi signal gets weak. It feels like it’s the end of the world, like we cannot make it to the next 20 minutes alive. This is the life we are living right now. We need updates on what is happening around us, and at the same time we need to update the whole world on what is happening in ours…what new achievement we have added to our list of achievements. And it feels great right? But do you really feel great or the number of likes and comments on the update makes you feel great? Whilst we get lost in trying to balance the likes and the comments, we miss out on the most important detail in our lives: actually living. we want the perfect body, perfect car, perfect relationship to an extent that we disregard all that we have. People wait all year for summer, all week for Friday and consequently all their life for happiness- if only I could lose 30 more lbs., I’d be happier; if only I had the latest phone..but what we do not realise is that life is happening now. Do not let thoughts of Monday steal your weekend. Just like the word of God says;

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

While we cannot control life, or what life presents to us; we can control how we respond to it. There is this utterly amazing feeling that comes with submitting everything to God. Normalize saying “Ï do not know how we are going to get through this Lord but I trust you!”
Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future”. Isn’t it motivating each time someone tells you they have 100% confidence that you will be able to do something?  It gives you ‘wings’ literally! So let’s not take that glory away from our Creator, leave tomorrow to him. He will take care of it.

We need to disconnect to reconnect. Reconnect with people, reconnect with yourself! This is now. You are here. Enjoy each and every moment! Be present. Be happy. Don’t forget to put down your phone!
